Amaryllis

Amaryllis Flower Meanings
Symbolic of success won after a struggle. These were often given in recognition of a job well done – particularly in scholastics, writing, and artistic endeavors. Give the poet in your life a bunch of amaryllis and you are encouraging his/her creative muse. You are also recognizing his/her achievements in the arts.

Dreaming of a Summer Day at the Beach.

It is so cold today it has been in the 20's.
I decided to post a summer photo of the beach.

Four Leaf Clovers

The Clover Story
“I know a place where four leaf clovers grow.”
Down on the nook there’s a lovely nook.
That’s where four leaf clovers grow.
One leaf is for Hope,
One is for Faith,
 one is for Love
 you know and
God put another in for Luck.
If you search and if you wait,
you will find where they grow.

Beach in March

Upon the Beach
by Henry David Thoreau

My life is like a stroll upon the beach.
As near the ocean's edge as I can go;
My tardy steps the waves sometimes o'erreach,
Sometimes I stay to let them overflow.

My sole employment 'tis and scrupulous care,
To set my gains beyond the reach of tides -
Each smoother pebble, and each shell more rare,
Which ocean kindly to my hand confides.

I have but few companions on the shore, -
They scorn the strand who sail upon the sea;
Yet oft I think the ocean they've sailed o'er
Is deeper known upon the strand to me.

The middle sea contains no crimson dulse,
Its deeper waves cast up no pearls to view;
Along the shore my hand is on its pulse,
And I converse with many a shipwrecked crew.

Saturday at Black Dog Salvage

Had a great day exploring Black Dog Salvage
found beautiful vintage tiles, post cards, shoe last
and parrot statue.
Spotted this heart on their wall upstairs.

Blu and the Snow Heart

My roses were wilting and I wanted to do
something fun with them, so I arranged the
pedals in the snow in the shape of a heart.
Blu wanted to be loved so every time
I placed the pedals on the snow
he was purring and rubbing on my hand.
