First Four-leaf Clover of the Year

Four-leaf Clover Poem
Author: Ella Higginson
I know a place where the sun is like gold,
And the cherry blooms burst with snow,
And down underneath is the loveliest nook,
Where the four-leaf clovers grow.
One leaf is for HOPE, and one is for FAITH,
And one is for LOVE, you know,
And GOD put another in for LUCK --
If you search, you will find where they grow.
But you must have HOPE, and you must have FAITH,
You must LOVE and be strong -- and so --
If you work, if you wait, you will find the place
Where the four-leaf clovers grow.

Blu with Balloons

This is Blu, a stray kitty that
has adopted us. My mom gave me
these balloons today. Balloons always
make me smile. Blu even enjoyed them.

My Family of Fiber Artist

This is my Grandmother Irene Rutherford,
who was a fiber artist. She loved making quilts.
This is my cousin Robin Ferguson who is not only a fiber artist but
is also very talented in painting and many other arts.
Below Robin is modeling a completed
Aran Wrap Cardigan Vogue Fall 2008
made by her.

A Treasure
by Mildred HatfieldIt's more than a coverlet,
More than a spread,
This beautiful quilt
That graces my bed.
It's laughter and sorrow,
It's pleasure and pain,
It's small bits and pieces
Of sunshine and rain.
It's a bright panorama
Of scraps of my life-
It's moments of glory,
It's moments of strife.
It's a story I cherish
Of days that have been,
It's a door I can open
To live them again.
Yes, it's more than a cover,
This much-treasured quilt,
It's parts pieced together
Of the life I have built.
